Norberto (Nobby) Martins

Norberto (Nobby) Martins is the founder and CEO of CityPay and the entrepreneurial and innovative force behind the company which has successfully propelled CityPay to the forefront of payment provision.  Under Norberto’s vision and leadership, CityPay has grown from its Channel Islands origins into an established independent European Payment Service Provider, certified by UK and European acquiring financial institutions and global card scheme brands including Visa, MasterCard, Amex and JCB.

Under Norberto’s guidance, CityPay has evolved into a FinTech provider offering acquiring and payment technology underpinned by its registration with the Jersey Financial Services Commission and its PCI DSS Level 1 service provider certification, meeting all the regulatory, security and trustworthiness requirements.

Prior to his current role, Norberto was instrumental in shaping the future of telecommunications in the Channel Islands as the Head of Business Development at Jersey Telecom.  Norberto’s notable achievements were the development of the company’s internet strategy and later, combining his technical and business knowledge, the setup of Cinergy, a strategic collaboration between Jersey Telecoms and Guernsey Telecoms.  As Managing Director of Cinergy, Norberto’s leadership was pivotal in preparing the telecoms companies for the digital age in the Channel Islands.

Norberto’s strong foundation in technology, business and marketing is anchored by an MBA from the University of East Anglia and a Diploma in Marketing (DipM) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
