Peter Rioda

Peter Rioda is an investor in, and non-executive director of CityPay having joined the board in 2022. Peter brings a strategic, capital markets and regulatory focus to the business and alongside his CityPay role, Peter is a professional non-executive director and consultant with 25 years of experience specializing in regulated alternative asset funds, including private equity, venture capital, debt, and hedge funds.

Peter has been at the forefront of fund management and administration for over 20 years, specializing in executive direction and strategic oversight. As a seasoned audit and risk committee member, he possesses in-depth expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and both US and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), alongside significant experience in alternative asset valuations and investor reporting.

Before establishing himself as a professional non-executive director, Peter played a pivotal role in scaling an emergent alternative asset administration firm, steering it through successful stages of growth culminating in a public offering in 2015. His international acumen is evidenced by his integral role in expanding operations across financial hubs in Luxembourg, Dublin, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore.

Peter is a chartered accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).  He is a committee member of the Jersey Funds Association, a highly influential and informed body working with the industry, regulators and legislators, locally and globally, to represent Jersey’s funds industry. Peter is also academically distinguished with a First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics and a Master’s with Distinction in Management Science and Operational Research.
